The Mandalorian Season 2 Debuts on October 30

Finally, this is the day that we learn when we can watch the debut for the next season of the first live-action episodic Star Wars television series, The Mandalorian. Lucasfilm and Disney announced today that the new season will debut on Disney+ on October 30. You can view that announcement below.

Principal production the season managed to wrap before the COVID-19 related shutdowns on film and television productions. Series showrunner and writer Jon Favreau has been adamant that Season 2 was still on target for a fall debut.

Official details have been slim on Season 2. A trailer and footage haven’t even been released yet. It’s only known that the show will continue the journey of the mysterious bounty hunter, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), known as The Mandalorian, as he tries to find a safe haven for The Child, a being who appears to be of the same race as the late former Jedi Master Yoda. The child is being pursued by an officer in the Imperial Remnant, Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), for unknown reasons. Moff Gideon is also in possession of the Darksaber, an ancient black-bladed lightsaber that is sacred to the Mandalorians.

Carl Weathers and Gina Carano are also expected to return for Season 2 in their respective roles of Greef Karga and Cara Dune. The show will be streaming weekly on the Disney+ service, where Season 1 is already available.
