It’s time to get plugged back into the Matrix for a fourth go-around. Warner Bros. Picture Group Chairman Toby Emmerich announced on Tuesday (per Variety) that Lana Wachowski has written and will direct a fourth film in the seminal science fiction franchise, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss set to return as Neo and Trinity. Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell worked with Wachowski on the script.

The announcement comes less than six months after the first film celebrated its 20th anniversary. The movie was an enormous hit both with critics and at the box office, praised for its used of special effects and the use of wire fu, which have become major elements of Hollywood action films since. The three films have grossed $1.632 billion worldwide.

Plot details for the new film, of course, are being kept under wraps. The property was one many were expecting a reboot or revival of for several years now.

“We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” said Emmerich. “Lana is a true visionary—a singular and original creative filmmaker—and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”

“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends,” Wachowski said.
