The Rock Jokes About Presidential Run, Plays a Superhero on Saturday Night Live

May 21, 2017 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joined the five-timers club last night on Saturday Night Live. The movie star and WWE alum hosted the show for a fifth time for Saturday night’s season finale, joining the likes of Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Tom Hanks as he promoted his new comedy Baywatch.

Johnson was actually joined by fellow five-timers Baldwin and Hanks in the opening monologue, during which he played off recent headlines centering around him as a possible 2020 presidential candidate. After being welcomed to the five-timers club by Baldwin, Johnson said he was planning to run for president and said Hanks would be his running mate, as they’re about the only things (beyond pizza) that America can agree on these days.
