The Trailer For Scream Has Arrived

Ghostface is officially back in business, and business is good as the trailer for Scream is here at last. Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group released the trailer for the hotly-anticipated sequel on Tuesday, and you can check it out below.

In addition to some pretty tense scenes, the trailer reveals some of the story for the upcoming film as Ghostface is apparently targeting people related to the attacks in the 1996 film. We get the return of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), who remains a badass as she says at one point, “I’m Sidney Prescott, of course I have a gun.” And of course Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) are along for the ride as well. They’re joined by Marley Shelton as Deputy Judy Hicks and franchise newcomers Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar, Jack Quaid, and Melissa Barrera.

The film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett from a script by James Vanderbilt and is set to release on January 14th, 2022. The official synopsis reads:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
