TMZ reports that Tiger Woods has reached a deal in his DUI case and will enter a DUI diversion program for first-time offenders. Woods was arrested back in May. The case was set to have a hearing in front of a judge in Palm Beach County this morning. His lawyer was set to enter a not guilty plea. Woods didn’t appear, but his lawyer met with prosecutors and arranged the deal. State Attorney’s Office representative Mike Edmonson confirmed the news.

Those who enter the program are required to plead guilty to reckless driving. They get 12 months probation and have to finish DUI education classes. Woods will also be banned from drinking alcohol or using drugs during his probation.

Woods was arrested on May 29 after police found him unconscious behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz around 2 AM. The car had been damaged. Woods was dazed but said he wasn’t drunk. He claimed it was an unexpected reaction to mixing prescription drugs. He was charged with DUI, reckless driving and improper stopping, all misdemeanors. If he completes the program, the reckless driving conviction will be removed from his record.
