Tom Holland has spoken out about Sony and Marvel Studios’ split over Spider-Man, addressing the situation in a GQ interview. Holland has stayed mostly quiet about the well-publicized split between the studios over a failure to come to financial terms going forward, but speaking with GQ he echoed sentiments from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige suggesting that the split is final.

“I’m not shy about expressing how incredible the last five years have been with Marvel,” he said. “I’ve truly had the time of my life, and in so many respects, they have made my dreams come true as an actor. Sony has also been really good to me, and the global success of Spider-Man: Far From Home is a real testament to their support, skill and commitment. The legacy and future of Spidey rests in Sony’s safe hands. I really am nothing but grateful, and I’ve made friends for life along the way.”

Sony reportedly has at least two more Spider-Man films planned, and could conceivably have the character appear in Venom 2 and other of the Marvel properties they own in conjunction with Spider-Man.
