Sony Pictures and Screen Gems have released the trailer for BrightBurn, a horror film that features a villain that arrives on Earth in the same way that Superman did. The film was directed by David Yarovesky from a script by Mark Gunn & Brian Gunn. It stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner. James Gunn is the producer with executive producer Mark Gunn, Brian Gunn, Dan Clifton, Simon Hatt, and Nic Crawley. IT was financed by The H Collective and produce with Gunn’s company Troll Court Entertainment. It will be released on May 24, 2019.

H Collective CEO Nic Crawley said: “We are proud to debut this trailer first to the fans! It’s even more poignant as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of The H Collective. We’ve assembled a remarkably talented team with James and Dave, bringing this project to life has been nothing short of fantastic. We’re extremely proud of our partnership with Sony and look forward to sharing this film with audiences around the world.

Here’s a synopsis: What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.
