The Trailer For The Child’s Play Remake Is Here

MGM and Orion Pictures have released the first trailer for the upcoming remake of Child’s Play, which arrives in theaters on June 21. The film was directed by Lars Klevberg from a script by Tyler Burton Smith. It stars Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, Bryan Tyree Henry, Beatrice Kitsos and Ty Consiglio. David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce with Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson executive producing.

Here’s a synopsis: Child’s Play follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

The film has nothing to do with Universal’s ongoing Chucky franchise which still has original cast members Brad Dourif and Alex Vincent, as well as series creator Don Mancini. That series will continue on television, as Syfy recently picked up the series.
