Universal Sets 2018 Release Date For Extinction

Coming Soon reports that Universal Pictures and Good Universe have announced that Extinction will be released on January 26, 2018

It was directed by Ben Young from a script by Eric Heisserer, Spenser Cohen and Bradley Caleb Kane. It stars Michael Pena, Lizzy Caplan and Israel Broussard. Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman wll produce while Alexander Young, Nathan Kahane, Joe Drake, Erin Westerman and Kelli Konop will executive produce.

The film follows a man who “must save his family from an otherworldly phenomenon.”

It’s the first film set for release that weekend, arriving a week after STX Entertainmnet’s Den of Thieves and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Horse Soldiers. The following week will see the release of Sony Pictures’ Cadaver.

It’s also the first film from Universal’s 2018 slate, followed immediately by Fifty Shades Freed (February 9, 2018) and Pacific Rim: Uprising (February 23, 2018).
