It had been reported by The Wrap that Warner Bros. was considering giving Wonder Woman 1984 a streaming release since theaters are shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Indiewire reports that Warner Bros. has confirmed that the movie will go to theaters, not streaming, as planned. The film is set to release on June 5.

The rumor followed the news that Universal had released Emma, The Invisible Man and The Hunt to VOD and will also release Trolls: World Tour on streaming. As we previously reported, several theater chains, including AMC, Cinemark and others, have shut their doors as the world deals with COVID-19. Warner Bros. has also yet to announce whether or not HBO Max, its own streaming service, will still arrive in May. Either way, Wonder Woman 1984 will not debut on the service before it has a full theatrical run.

The film was directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal.
