The Meg is getting ready to swim again, with Warner Bros. finding a director for the giant shark film’s sequel. THR reports that Ben Wheatley (Rebecca) has signed on to direct the follow-up to the 2018 John Turteltaub-directed Jason Statham vehicle, which was adapted from Steven Alten’s nook series.

The sequel will be based on the second book in the series, The Meg: The Trench. Statham is expected to return along with writers Jon and Erich Hoeber and Dean Georgaris. The first film saw Statham at the head of a team that goes to rescue a deep see observation program after it is attacked by the titular creature, a megalodon shark which were thought to be extinct. Despite a massive $178 million budget, the film overperformed to become a hit for Warner Bros. with $527.4 million worldwide.

The sequel does not yet have a release date.
