West Hollywood Council Votes To Remove Donald Trump’s Star On Walk of Fame

August 7, 2018 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Entertainment Weekly reports that the West Hollywood City Council has voted unanimously to remove President Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

West Hollywood Mayor John Duran tweeted:

The star has been the focus of vandalism ever since the President began his political career. The most recent incident happened on July 25, when a man destroyed it with a pickax. He later turned himself in to police. A month before the 2016 election, it was also destroyed with a pickax as a response to the leaked Access Hollywood tape in which Trump made his infamous “grab them by the pussy” comment. The star was then fixed. However, other incidents included a wall getting built around it, a swastika spray-painted on it, and stickers placed on it, including one that read “#IResist.”

Trump was given the star in 2007 for hosting NBC’s The Apprentice.
