Westworld Season Three

Westworld’s third season is set to plunge its world back into chaos, and it will start in just over two months. HBO announced on Sunday that the third season of the sci-fi thriller series will premiere on March 15th at 9 PM ET/PT on the premium cable network. The series will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and partners’ streaming platforms.

The network also released a new teaser video that you can see below. It runs through the fictional events of the years leading up to the show’s present, featuring a couple real-world events that took place (Hong Kong’s unrest, Trump’s impeachment) along with several that occurred in what would be our future. Apparently among other things, Indonesia saw an ecological collapse in 2020, Paris had a thermonuclear event in 2025 and Russia plunged into civil war in 2037 until 2039 saw the initiation of the “Solomon” build, which evened things out. However, the issues at Westworld have caused a new spike in issues almost twenty years later, which catches us up to current.

The new season will feature the return of Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Emmy® winner Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore and Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton. New to the series are Aaron Paul, Vincent Cassel, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, Marshawn Lynch, John Gallagher Jr., Michael Ealy, and Tommy Flanagan.

The new season picks up after the events of season two, where the Hosts made their way out into the real world. The season will run eight episodes, with deals in place for possible fourth and fifth seasons.
