Westworld SXSW

HBO has probably won the coolest thing at SXSW 2018 award, building an entire mini-Sweetwater (the name of the town in Westworld) 30 minutes from downtown Austin, complete with paid actors playing the hosts that you can interact with (everything from prostitutes hitting on you to the sheriff yelling at you if you get out of line), easter eggs hidden in the park, stories going on around you, a bar serving up cocktails, live music, a real barber, a saloon complete with playable blackjack table, and more. There was even a samurai wandering around, along with secret rooms. It’s an incredible investment by HBO that led to fans waiting up to 4-5 hours to get access to the park (Westworld-themed busses transported fans to the park and provided them with coins to use at the saloon). 411mania was able to visit the park, check out some pics of the amazing event below and follow our Instagram page for our ongoing pics from SXSW!
