WETA Reportedly Doing Special Effects For Alien Series

The upcoming Alien TV show from Noah Hawley will have some big special effects heavyweights working on it in Peter Jackson’s WETA. AVP Galaxy reports that the company, who are known for their work on the Lord of the Rings films, Avatar, King Kong and more, will be responsible for designing and bringing the Xenomorphs to life in the series.

The series is created by Hawley (Legion, Fargo) and will be set on Earth at some point in the future. It will not feature Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley, as Hawley said he felt her story was told perfectly and he didn’t want to tinker with it.

Ridley Scott, who is producing the show, said in November that the series will be an eight to ten hour show, with a pilot and series bible being written at that time.
