Writer of Booster Gold Film Says His Screenplay is Done

May 26, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Hey, remember how there was a Booster Gold film in the works way back when? We don’t know if it still is, but the script is done at least. Zack Stentz told Revenge of the Fans that he has completed the script for the movie, though he is not sure what it’s status is.

“I do not know what’s going on with it right now, honestly,” Stentz told the site. “And I don’t know if the DC people know what’s going on with it. Their strategy seems to change depending on how […] most recent movie did. But I can tell you that a script has been turned in that the director and producer, Greg Berlanti, has proclaimed himself to be very happy with. And it’s something that’s ready to go, but DC and Warner Bros. would need to give the green light to it. The ball is in their court.”

The last we heard of the film was back in 2016, when Greg Berlanti said the film would “have no connective tissue” with the DCEU films that had been released and were still to come at that point. That actually fits within DC’s strategy, as they have been backing off the overt connections and crossovers since Justice League fell short. Whether it will eventually get made though, only DC knows for sure.
