Nerdist presented several fan theories about where the Soul Stone is in the MCU, with the prevailing idea that Thanos’ name spells out the locations of the six infinity stones in the universe.

T is for Tesseract, the Space Stone.
A is for Aether, the Reality Stone.
N is for Necklace, the Time Stone.
O is for Orb, the Power Stone.
S is for Loki’s Scepter, the Mind Stone.

H, the soul stone, is believed to be Heimdall (Idris Elba) by some. While others think that the N is actually for Nebula.

When The Huffington Post asked Karen Gillan (Nebula) about her theory, she said: “I can’t say whether that’s going to happen. Nebula has a significant role and has a lot of stuff to do because her father is Thanos, who is the villain of the movies. She has some serious daddy issues with him, so she has a lot to confront.

They also spoke with writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who debunked the theory.

McFeely said the theory was “fairly random.” Markus added: ““I don’t think that’s how you go about writing a good script.

McFeely added: “It really isn’t. You know, it’d be great to put the soul stone here but it’s not an O,’ or whatever the hell it is.

Markus then joked that there would need to be a “Planet O.”

Here are more highlights of the theories:

McFeely on a possible Sherlock joke: “I don’t want to ruin people’s fun, but the idea is that that’s a meta joke, right? That’s a joke that those two guys are actors and have careers outside of these movies. For our purposes, they’re not actors, and they don’t have careers outside of these movies.”

Markus on if Loki intentionally lost in The Avengers so he could be taken back to Asgard and conquer it: “It sounds like a long and inefficient plan. He could’ve just gone to Asgard.”
