Art may be imitating…well, other art, as Young Rock star Uli Latukefu has joined Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam movie. Deadline reports that Latukefu, who was hand-picked by Johnson to play the college version of himself in the NBC series, has joined the DC film in an as-yet-unrevealed role.

Latukefu joins a cast that includes Johnson in the titular role, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Marwan Kenzari, Sarah Shahi, Mohammed Amer, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui also star in the film, which is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshiryani. It is set to be released on July 29th, 2022.

Young Rock has been a hit for NBC as its second highest-rated new show of the season, coming in at #7 overall in rankings for the network.
