Adele and Carly Rae Jepsen Top iTunes Year End Sales

Billboard reports that Carly Rae Jepsen and Adel have topped the year end sales for iTunes.

Adele came in first. Her album 21 passed the 10 million mark in sales. The album was first released in January 2011 and Adele received six Grammy Awards last February.

Coming in second was Taylor Swift with Red which was released last October. Rounding out the top five albums were Babel by Mumford & Sons, Up All Night by One Direction, and Some Nights by fun.’s.

Carly Rae Jepsen had the song of the year with “Call Me Maybe” and it was the top seller on iTunes. Jepsen was followed by Goyte’s “Somebody that I Used to Know,” fun.’s “We Are Young,” Maroon 5’s “Payphone” with Wiz Khalifa, and Nicki Minaj wiht “Starships.”

The iTunes store have also started releasing their own “best of” lists. Frank Ocean was named the top artist. Shields” by the Grizzly Bear was named the best album. fun.’s “We Are Young” was named best song.
