Adele Visits London Firefighters After Grenfell Tower Fire

June 21, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

CNN reports that Adele visited London firefighters for a “cup of tea and a cuddle” to thank them for their work in battling the recent blaze at Grenfell tower. She showed up abruptly at the Chelsea Fire Station on Monday. Fireman Rob Petty, who posted photos on Facebook, described the singer as “wonderfully grounded and caring.”

Station manager Ben King said: “She just turned up at the station and knocked on the window and said she has some cakes for us. We opened the door to her and she took her sunglasses off and said: ‘Hi, I’m Adele.’ Everyone was so shocked.

She also took part in a minute’s silence for the fire’s victims, something observed across the entire UK. The London Fire Brigade and other emergency workers have been praised by politicians, locals and celebrities for their heroic efforts.

The fire resulted in 79 people either dead or missing and presumed dead. There has been a lot of anger at the government and local authorities for how they handled the disaster. London Mayor Sadiq Khan called it “a horrific incident.”

Rita Ora also commented on the tragedy on Instagram, which you can see below.
