Ariana Grande did not, allegations to the contrary, rip off a scene in her new music video from a 1990s ad campaign…at least, not without permission. TMZ reports that while Grande has been accused of ripping off a 1993 ad from Jean Paul Gaultier for her new music video “GOd is a Woman,” she got permission to use the idea.

Sources close to Grande say that she was inspired by the ad and reached out to Gaultier to ask if she could do an homage to the ad. She gained permission and proceeded to use it. The video has 30 million YouTube views so far.
