Chris Cornell’s Wife Blames His Doctor For His Suicide

TMZ reports that Chris Cornell’s wife Vicky Karayiannis is blaming the suicide of her husband on his doctor, claiming that he never should have prescribed painkillers to him. She was on Good Morning America this morning, where she said that Cornell had a shoulder injury and was given benzodiazepine for pain relief. However, Cornell was a recovering addict and shouldn’t have been given that kind of drug without supervision. She claimed that he began to abuse it, which led to a relapse. She believes he loved life and never would have committed suicide if he was sober.
Cornell hung himself in his hotel room last May in Detroit, just after completing a Soundgarden concert. He had several drugs in his system, including a sedative, barbiturates and Ativan.
