Even though he’s currently in the middle of controversy thanks to a controversial Lifetime docuseries about his alleged sex cult, R. Kelly still celebrated his birthday at a Chicago nightclub. However, this brought some controversy of its own, as TMZ reports that police showed up to the venue after receiving a call about a warrant for Kelly’s arrest. The singer was at the V75 Chicago early this morning when cops showed up. Someone had called and said that there was a warrant for his arrest and he was at the club. Police found Kelly and spoke with him, but they eventually learned there was no warrant. After all, this was in Chicago, not Georgia, where Kelly is under criminal investigation. Once police discovered there was no warrant, they left Kelly alone.

Kelly didn’t seem bothered by the latest accusations against him, seemingly celebrating his birthday as if the docuseries never aired. This falls in line with reports that he didn’t even watch it. At one point, while surrounded by fans, he grabbed a microphone and said, “I don’t give a f**k about what’s going on!!“. He than sang the opening to his classic song Bump N’ Grind with the audience cheering him on.
