More Details On Mac Miller: DUI Case Dropped, Ariana Grande Pushed For Sobriety

As we previously reported, Mac Miller passed away this past weekend at the age of 26. Now TMZ reports that as a result of his death, the Los Angeles City Attorney has been forced to drop a DUI case against him. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday in a Los Angeles courtroom, but it was removed from the docket and the official papers will be filed soon.

Miller was arrested in May after he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole in San Fernando. He walked away and was arrested later at his home. He wasn’t seriously injured at the time but blew twice the legal limit.

Meanwhile, TMZ also reports that Mac Miller’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande tried very hard to push him to remain sober, even after they were dating. A friend claims that Grande wanted him to be healthy more than anything else. Shane Powers on his podcast The Shane Show to talk about Miller, praising his talent and personality but also talking about his addiction issues.

There had been reprot sthat Grande was the source of his issues, but Powers said that was not the case. He said Grande was “incredible” in her support while he tried to get sober, calling him and asking what she could do to help him in the process. She was “ready to go to the wall” to help him and was said to be hit hard by his death. The two split up in May but remained close.
