Drake Sues Woman For Extortion After She Claimed He Raped Her

September 19, 2018 | Posted by Joseph Lee

TMZ reports that Drake has filed a lawsuit against a woman who said that he got her pregnant. Drake claims the woman faked a pregnancy and also falsely claimed that he raped her. The lawsuit is against a woman named Layla Lace, who he met during a February 2017 Boy Meets World tour stop in Manchester, England. They had sex at his hotel, which Drake says was consensual. He claimed that “Layla also voluntarily and seemingly happily performed oral sex.”

The lawsuit was filed by attorney Larry Stein. Drake claimed that Lace lost it after he tried to say goodbye instead of taking her on tour with him. She sent him several text messages (which you can see here) talking about how she missed him. He said she created a “fantasy relationship” but he didn’t have the “time or energy to respond” and so she got angry.

In April of 2017, she claimed she was pregnant on Instagram. She wrote: “So I guess still in this era this is the new thing that after you tell a dude you pregnant they stop answering they phone!!!” She then threatened to leak messages from Drake and eventually claimed he was the father on SiriusXM. In May 2017, she hired a lawyer and demanded money. She threatened him with a defamation lawsuit because TMZ posted a story where he said he never met her.

Lace also allegedly refused to take a paternity test and her lawyer stopped communicating. Drake added: “There is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which would have been born last Fall.” Lace then went to police in New York and claimed Drake raped her. She then hired a new lawyer who wanted money to prevent the claims from going public. The case was sent to Manchester police who interviewed and cleared the rapper. Lace then wanted millions of dollars to remain quiet.

He’s suing for unspecified damages for civil extortion, emotional distress, fraud, defamation, and abuse of process.
