The family of one of R. Kelly’s alleged sex slaves/victims wants to be present for a welfare check with the aid of law enforcement. TMZ reports that a lawyer for the family of Joycelyn Savage told the site he is working on their behalf with prosecutors in Illinois to conduct a new welfare check on Joycelyn at Kelly’s home in Chicago’s Trump Tower.

According to the lawyer, the Savages believe that Joycelyn and Azriel Clary, another alleged Kelly sex slave, are both living there. While the Chicago Police Department did a welfare check in January, he doesn’t believe they were thorough enough and the family wants one done with them present to witness. They are hoping they can convince Joycelyn to leave Kelly.

Savage has been a supporter of Kelly’s throughout his ordeal, though her family believes she is brainwashed and under Kelly’s complete control. They also want police present at the check, as they claim Kelly’s associates have threatened them and they fear for their safety.

Kelly’s attorney said, “Police in Chicago and Atlanta have both done wellness checks. Plus she has been in court. Now this attorney is a psychiatrist. Gimme a break.”

It is unclear as of now whether the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office will agree to the welfare check. Kelly is back home after posting bail from turning himself in over the weekend on charges of sex abuse.
