September 17, 2015 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Billboard reports that Iron Maiden have scored their best sales week ever as The Book of Souls debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 74,000 copies sold. It’s the band’s 16th album overall and matches the peak of 2010’s The Final Frontier on Top Rock Albums and the Billboard 200 (#4). It debuted on the Billboard Artist 100 at #10.

This is the band’s sixth album in a row to get a higher first-week sales total than its predecessor. It started with 1998’s Virtual XI (10,000 first week copies sold, up from 1995’s X Factor, which sold 6,000) and continued with 2000’s Brave New World (38,000), 2003’s Dance With Death (40,000), 2006’s A Matter of Life and Death (56,000), The Final Frontier (63,000) and this latest album.
