Ja Rule’s involvement didn’t save the Fyre Festival from being a disaster of legendary proportions, but he’s not giving up on festivals. The rapper, whose involvement in the now-infamous 2017 festival fiasco was chronicled in two documentaries, spoke with TMZ and said he still has plans on the way.

Asked by a cameraman about Fyre, Rule said, “It is the most iconic festival that never was, so I have plans to create the iconic music festival, but you didn’t hear it from me.”

Rule also talked about the documentaries, which are on Netflix and Hulu respectively. When asked if he can laugh about it now, he said, “It’s not funny to me, man. It’s heartbreaking to me. It was something that I really, really wanted to be special and amazing, and it just didn’t turn out that way. But, you know, in the midst of chaos is opportunity.”

The festival was a logistical nightmare and failed to deliver on its high promises. It was the reason for a $100 million fraud lawsuit filed against festival organizers.
