Jay-Z Files Trademark For ‘Jaybo’ From ‘The Story of OJ’

January 15, 2018 | Posted by Joseph Lee

TMZ reports that Jay-Z’s company S. Carter Enterprises has filed legal documents to trademark the animated character “Jaybo” from his music video for “The Story of OJ.” He’s hoping to use the character on T-shirts, sweaters, hats, blankets, shams, dinnerware, mugs, cocktail shakers and thermal containers.

Jaybo is a take on 1899 children’s book character Sambo, which has long-considered to be racist due to the artwork.
