Jay-Z Takes Shot At Donald Trump In New Rap Verse

November 30, 2018 | Posted by Joseph Lee

TMZ reports that Jay-Z takes a shot at President Donald Trump in his verse for Meek Mill’s new track “What’s Free” and tells Trump not to pit him against Kanye West.

He said: “No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye. They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA. I ain’t one of these house n***as you bought.

Some fans believed the “red hat” line also took a shot at Kanye, but those involved with the production said this is not the case. Instead he was actually referencing the feud between Michael Jackson and Prince in the 80s and 90s. He was saying that just because West supports Trump and he doesn’t, people should pit them against each other as they did Jackson and Prince. The comment about “house n***as” line is a shot at black people in politics who support Trump like Ben Carson.

The song appears on Mill’s album Championships, which had a release party last night in New York City. Rick Ross, a guest on the same song as Jay, was at the party. Cardi B, who is on the album, was not, but she did FaceTime the rapper to congratulate him.
