January 22, 2013 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Celebuzz spoke with Jennifer Hudson at a Hennessy VS event for her film The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete in Los Angeles. She was asked about American Idol, which has steadily been decreasing in ratings and she said she thinks it should end before its canceled. She placed seventh during the third season.

She said: “Everything has its time. I think it should just allow itself to go out on top… and gracefully. American Idol changed the face of television. So, not everyone can say that. And, it’s always been a phenomenon. I’m proud to have come from American Idol, so I just say, go out on top.

The series airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM on FOX. The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete premieres this week at the Sundance Film Festival.
