Joycelyn Savage, one of the girls who stood by R. Kelly during the scandals against him over the last year and maintained that she was not being held captive by him, now says she was one of his victims. She took to Instagram (h/t Buzzfeed) to announce that she will now be posting details on her life with Kelly on her new Patreon account:

“‪I have Partnered up with @Patreon where I will post daily chapters of my story. Things I am going to reveal that was sweared not to see the day of light — by NDA. I am risking my life for many others. ‪This story is 18+ and only for mature audience, I want to make sure my story is very detailed as I can remember. My first story “Where It All Started” is out now. patreon.com/Joycelynsavage ‬(Link is bio) 🙏🏼”

Savage defended Kelly earlier this year in the now infamous R. Kelly interview with Gayle King and denied her parents’ claims that Kelly was holding her captive, saying they were just trying to get money from Kelly.

Now she is saying that she met Kelly when she was 17 and began living with him when he was 19, noting that he promised to turn her into the “next Aaliyah.” She added that Kelly recorded two songs with her that he promised to release but never did, and that he would buy her clothes and give her money at the start of their relationship, but that he eventually became very controlling of her.

“After these couple of months Robert started giving me commands, and making sure I call him by certain names. Like ‘Master’ or ‘Daddy’ which I didn’t really care for at the time,” Savage wrote. “If I wasn’t getting paid or pursuing my dream I would’ve went home, but all of that didn’t stop just yet. But It started getting worse by day by day, he would raise his voice at me if I didn’t call him by those two names. If Robert called me I would have to reply with ‘Yes, daddy’ or ‘Please daddy’ he was so controlling.”

She also said that she was constantly monitored by one of Kelly’s people.

“They never spoken to me or anything they just watched me which was weird to me at the time,” Savage wrote. “I can say I didn’t have any type of privacy at all now that I think of it. If I showered one of his assistants would have to be by the door while I shower. At the moment I kept thinking to myself why is all of this, does he think I will run away?”

Kelly is currently facing state and federal sex crime charges. He denies any wrongdoing.
