The former girlfriend of Marilyn Manson bassist Twiggy Ramirez claims he raped and physically assaulted her in the late 1990s. Jessicka Adams posted a lengthy piece to Facebook on October 20th in which she accuses Ramirez, real name Jeordie White, of physically and sexually assaulting her during their relationship.

Adams, the former lead singer of Jack Off Jill and current singer for Scarling, said that her relationship with White ended after White assaulted her and raped her. She said that they began dating when she was eighteen but that the relationship when bad when he became increasingly violent, saying that in one incident after he became jealous of Adams having a conversation with Trent Reznor, he demanded they leave and “began driving my car erratically on the highway, all the while punching me the chest several times, knocking the air out of my lungs.”

The incident of rape happened while Marilyn Manson was on a short break from opening for Nine Inch Nails. Adams wrote, “Jeordie returned home to what was just [their roommate] Pete’s apartment, as I was now staying with friends. I knew at that point that Jeordie had not been faithful on tour, including being with women whom I to this day respect and considered my musical contemporaries. All this led to an argument I never saw coming. He forced me on to the floor with his hand around my neck. I said NO. I said NO. I said it so loud enough, that Pete came rushing in from the other room to get him off of me. But I had been raped. I had been raped by somebody I thought I loved. That night I slept in Pete’s bed and cried myself to sleep. Neither of us discussed it until years later as we both had our own shame about not reporting it.”

Adams says that her record label told her not to come forward, saying, “In 1997, I was warned by my band’s record company that if I revealed my story publicly, there would be a very good chance that my band Jack Off Jill would be black balled by concert promoters, radio programmers, and other bands and their managers.”

White has not addressed the claims. He left Marilyn Manson in 2002, but returned in 2008 and appeared on the band’s albums The High End of Low and Born Villain after that. White did not contribute 2015’s The Pale Emperor and does not have any credits on Heaven Upside Down, which released on October 6th.

Manson issued a statement to Pitchfork which read, “I knew Jessicka and Jeordie had a romantic relationship many years ago and I considered and still consider Jessicka to be a friend. I knew nothing about these allegations until very recently and am saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.”
