Police in Chicago responded to an anonymous call that R. Kelly was holding two women against their will, coming face to face with the singer. TMZ reports that a tip was given to the Cook County State Attorney’s Office that two women were being held hostage at Kelly’s Trump Tower residence. Kelly was there when they arrived and police ordered him into the other room so they could speak with the women.

The two women, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, told police that they were there voluntarily and nothing illicit was happening. Savage and Clary have consistently maintained that they are voluntarily with the singer, despite their parents claiming that they’ve been brainwashed into being with him.

Police left without incident. Kelly is currently under criminal investigation in Georgia over claims made in the Surviving R. Kelly Lifetime docuseries, while Chicago prosecutors are reportedly being inundated with calls to their hotline after asking alleged victims to come forward. Kelly has maintained his innocence.
