Prosecutors File Objection to Conrad Murray’s Plea for Freedom

December 28, 2012 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

The doctor who killed Michael Jackson may have to stay in jail while awaiting the outcome of his appeal. TMZ reports that the California Attorney General has filed documents opposing Conrad Murray’s request to be released while his appeal is pending. Murray claims he isn’t a flight risk and say he will live with girlfriend Nicole Alvarez, who he has a child with. However, the AG notes that Murry has seven children with five women, and thus is not necessarily tied to Alvarez.

Murray is also claiming that he can’t flee prosecution because he is a celebrity and cannot just run and hide. Prosecutors note that he should not be allowed to go free on that basis, considering he is only famous because of Jackson’s death. They also note that Murray has shown no remorse for the death, which is a red flag that he might be a danger if set free.
