R. Kelly got extremely emotional in his first interview since being arrested for aggravated sexual abuse, shouting at the camera and sobbing. Kelly spoke with Gayle King in a sit-down interview that will air tomorrow on CBS This Morning, where he denies the allegations against him. Kelly is facing ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse in relation to a series of alleged encounters with girls from thirteen to sixteen years old.

Kelly is asked by King about the charges, and whether he’s ever been with an underage girl. He said, “I’ll sit here and say this. I had two cases back then that I said in the beginning of the interview that I would not talk about because of my ongoing case now. But I will tell you this. People are going back to my past, okay? That’s exactly what they’re doing, they’re going back to the past and they’re trying to add all of this stuff now to that. To make all of the stuff that’s going on now feel real to people.”

When King responded that the past was relevant in his case, he countered, “Absolutely not. Because for one, I beat my case. When you beat something, you beat it. You can’t double jeopardy me like that, it’s not fair. It’s not fair to nobody. When you beat your case, you beat your case.”

When confronted with the specific claims made against him by women, Kelly says “Not true! These are not true, whether they’re old rumors or new rumors, future rumors…not true!”

In another clip when asked whether he’s ever held anyone against their will, he starts to get agitated and says, “I don’t need to! Why would I? How stupid would it be for R. Kelly, with all I’ve been through in my way, way past, to hold somebody — let alone four, five, six, fifty, you said. How stupid would I have to be to do that?”

He then turns to the camera and says, getting emotional, “That’s stupid! Use your common sense. Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to, love me if you want. But just use your common sense. How stupid would it be for me, with my crazy past and what I’ve been through — oh right now I just think I need to be a monster, hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement, and don’t let them eat, don’t let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle!” Finally at the end, he begins to sob saying, “This is not me! I’m fighting for my f**king life!”

The clips are in the below video.
