R. Kelly is out of jail, but he’s also facing a new lawsuit from a woman who claims he sexually abused her when she was sixteen. TMZ reports that in an addition to his legal woes, the singer is now facing a lawsuit from Heather Williams, who claims Kelly sexually abused her.

According to the documents filed in Cook County, Illinois, Williams claims Kelly met her in May of 1998 when she was walking down a Chicago street. Kelly was allegedly driving by and stopped to speak with her. He later sent people to meet her and her family at a restaurant according to the lawsuit. Kelly’s crew said he wanted her to appear in a video. She says she was “starstruck” but that in June, Kelly began to sexually abuse her, specifically claiming they had sexual intercourse and oral sex. Williams says the abuse continued until she was an adult.

The lawsuit says that Williams “broke through her repressed memory” while seeing a therapist in June of 2015 and has suffered from shame, guilt, self-blame and depression. She’s suing for $50,000.

Kelly’s camp claims that Williams’ lawyer sent a letter saying that they should contact him to resolve the matter outside of court and threatened to sue if that didn’t happen, in what is being called a shake down.
