R. Kelly may be reeling from the controversy over the Lifetime docuseries Surviving R. Kelly, but it doesn’t seem to have affected his career, at least in Germany. TMZ reports that Kelly’s bookings in the country are still going strong in spite of the recent series that focused on his rumored sex cult. He is currently set to perform in Ludwigsburg in April, with tickets selling for $115 or more. He’s offering a meet and greet for $355. Meanwhile, Kelly also has shows set for Hamburg and Oberhausen, which were added to his schedule in the past few days, after the documentary aired.

The promoter of the Ludwigsburg show claims that they know what’s going on in the US and is watching to see how things progress. A representative for the venue said: “You can be assured that we are carefully following the situation and, if necessary, will act accordingly.” The promoter could mean the current criminal investigation against Kelly in Fulton County, Georgia, as well as possible cases in Illinois.

Ever since Buzzfeed initially reported about the sex cult in 2017, American promoters have been cancelling his shows. The documentary only brought that back to the forefront, although it did result in increased Spotify numbers. It remains to be seen if Kelly can rebound, but it seems that the controversy hasn’t hurt everything in his career yet.
