Russell Simmons is being investigated by the NYPD over multiple rape and sexual misconduct allegations, according to a new report. The Los Angeles Times reports that the New York Police Department is looking into several claims of sexual misconduct against him that date as far back as the early 1980s.

According to the outlet, investigators from the special victims unit are looking into at least seven claims and have reached out to some of the alleged victims. The news comes as America’s Next Top Model judge Kelly Cutrone told the New York Post that he tried to rape her after they left a party in 1991.

Cutrone told the site that she was livid after learning that Simmons tried to start a “#NotMe” hashtag movement denying the sexual assault accusations that have been made, a play on the #MeToo movement. She said, “The #NotMe thing? I’m going to do a #YeahYou,” Cutrone said. “F**k you.”

Simmons denies all sexual misconduct, claiming that all of his sexual encounters have been consensual and legal. His lawyers told TMZ that he took a polygraph that his people say was administered by, in TMZ’s words, “a national leader in the field of polygraphing.” The lawyers say that Simmons passed the test, in which he claimed he denied the charges against him by model Keri Claussen Khalighi, and plans to do the test again for allegations made by four others.

Simmons’ lawyer says that the results will be released once he completes the tests. He is inviting his accusers to take a polygraph too.
