Taylor Swift Reputation

It’s good to be Taylor Swift. CNN reports the pop star has sold over a million copies of her new album Reputation ever since it was released last Friday. This is her fourth album to sell over a million in its first week, joining 2014’s 1989, 2012’s Red and 2010’s Speak Now. She is the only artist to have four different albums sell more than a million in a week since Nielsen Music began tracking album sales in 1991. Swift kept the album off of streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify for the first week of release. Her last album, 1989, won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2016 and sold over six million copies.

This isn’t the largest debut in history, however, as that belongs to Adele’s 25. That album debuted in 2015 with 2.3 million copies sold in its first three days before getting 3.3 million in its first week.
