As we reported yesterday, Tekashi69 was arrested by ATF agents alongside his ex-manager and other associates on racketeering and firearms charges. TMZ reports that the rapper will not get special treatment in prison, as he’s been placed in general population while he waits for his bail hearing. He is currently being housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, according to his lawyer Lance Lazzaro.

The US Justice Department has stated that MDC is “brutal”, with inmates that are “extremely dangerous, violent, or escape-prone.” Prosecutors seem concerned that he’s a target, as he has been before his arrest. One prosecutor, Michael Longyear, told a judge that former members of his crew “wanted to super violate him” after he appeared on “The Breakfast Club” and accused them of turning on him. Longyear said “super violate” in this case means hurting him or possibly shooting him.

Tekashi was arrested after it was discovered he was going to go to a Connecticut casino. They were worried that a murder attempt would endanger innocent people. Lazzaro thinks that Tekashi will be fine in general population, however. His bail hearing is set for tomorrow after the judge was unavailable for today. He was indicted on six federal charges and faces a possible life sentence in prison.
