411s NWA:TNA Xplosion Report 09.05.04
I received quite a few e-mails chastising me for stupidly saying that Chase O’Reilly was a member of The Naturals. That is obviously what I get for writing a report at 1 AM.
I’M NOT READY TO THINK UP A NEW OPENING LINE!
Mike Tenay and those golden locks open up the show.
They show Jeff Jarrett’s segment from last week’s PPV, complete with a countdown (nine weeks, by the way) to their first Sunday PPV.
Scott Hudson’s interview with Kid Kash and (the mostly silent) Dallas is shown. Kash was apparently the toughest boy in his class. No one wanted to mess with him in fear that he’d break their necks after botching a punch.
The Naturals once again retained their titles last week since, you know, they rock.
Scott Hudson’s interview with Scott D’Amore is shown, followed by The Midnight Rider shenanigans.
Shark Boy & D-Ray 3000 vs. Chaz Taylor & CW Anderson – Holy crap it’s CW Anderson! CW and his partner immediately attack D-Ray, who mounts a brief comeback before CW rocks him with an armbreaker. D-Ray is backed up into CW’s corner, where Taylor throws him to the mat by his fro. Snap suplex from Chaz, and since he’s vastly less talented than his partner, he quickly tags CW in. CW works over D-Ray’s arm some more before tagging Chaz back in. Texas Twister, which is a spinning bodyslam into a Rock Bottom, from Taylor is only good enough for two. Jawjacker by D-Ray allows him to make the ol’ hot tag. Shark Boy’s in, and by God, he’s a house of fire. Dropkicks for Chaz and CW. Chaz gets clotheslined to the floor. Neckbreaker by Shark Boy to CW gets two. Nine punches in the corner, with the standard tenth of course being substituted a nice bite to the face. CW reverses a whip and plants Shark Boy with a spinebuster. D-Ray makes the save. Chaz tries to run in, but he is quickly dumped to the floor by D-Ray. Awesome superkick to D-Ray from CW. Unfortunately for him, he runs right into a boot from Shark Boy. Deep Sea Drop of course ends things at 4:00. Very nice to see CW Anderson again, who is just a spectacular old school worker.
Scott Hudson’s interview with Monte/y Brown is shown. He doesn’t have many nice things to say about Jeff Jarrett or Vince Russo. And you know how this interview ends.
That big clusterfuck of a main event aftermath where half the roster got involved in shown.
Monty Brown vs. Nate Webb AND Eddie Venom – JJ quickly gets thrown to the floor. Nate Webb tries to mount an offense, but gets belly-to-back suplexed over the top rope, and right onto the awaiting Venom. Awesome. Monty just pounds away on both of them. Webb is thrown back into the ring, and… POOOOOOOOUNCE! Eddie Venom catches Brown with a few punches, but five seconds later, a T-Bone Suplex puts him down. Here it comes again… POOOOOOOOUNCE! He covers Venom, and of course, that’s it at 2:00. He cuts a promo afterwards, promising to take out the “unfortunate winner” of this Wednesday’s title match. Admittedly, Brown calling himself “the next World Heavyweight Champion” is a tad bit wrong, as it’s possible that Hardy will win. After throwing out that great word, Monty attacks a fan. He brings him into the ring… POOOOOOOOUNCE! Monty just hurls the fan with a gutwrench. This segment should have been done on Impact, which is, you know, the show that people actually watch.
Hype video for Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy is shown.
TNA Cam with Dusty Rhodes, who promises to take care of business.
TNA Cam with AMW, who believe that the gold will be coming back to them.
TNA Cam with XXX, who say much of the same.
TNA Cam with Kid Kash & Dallas, who says that AJ may be good, but he’s just not Kid Kash.
TNA Cam with Monty Brown. Summing it up… POOOOOOOOUNCE!
Tonight on what is to be the last TNA Wednesday PPV ever…
Jeff Hardy will finally battle Jeff Jarrett in a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title.
The Naturals will defend their TNA Tag Team Titles against America’s Most Wanted, and whomever wins that match will face off with XXX later that night.
Dusty Rhodes and Scott D’Amore will finally face off with Vince Russo as the special guest referee.
An X-Division Dominance Match will consist of six X-Division tag teams trying to prove who is the best.
Finally, a six man tag match will see Sonny Siaki, Erik Watts, and Desire face Abyss, Alex Shelley, and Goldylocks.
As always, see yah next week.
