411’s Talking Smack Report: 05/23/17

-Thank you to everyone who passed along congrats and well wishes to me on the birth of my son last week. As some noted he is a HOSS as he clocked in at 10 lbs 2 oz even with being 10 days early.

-Renee Young welcomes us to another edition of Talking Smack and this week her guest is Shane McMahon, which is a big improvement over Rosenberg. They quickly jump into the announced lineup for the Money in the Bank match. It is a pretty stacked field and some intriguing options even though I feel Corbin is the favorite as it generally benefits a heel more. Renee wants a pick from Shane, but he says he can’t do it due to how wide open the field is. Shane was jacked over seeing AJ and Nakamura in he ring at the same time tonight and Renee calls it a dream match.

-They pimp their sponsor Rocket League.

-New Day is out singing “Take it Back” from Rocky and Renee is so happy to see them she hugs all of them. This is a great format for New Day and I am expecting big things from this. Shane picks up that they were doing a little Frank Stallone. The New Day have cereal with them, and they have issues with JBL saying The Usos were best tag team in this era. Big E is shocked at some of the stuff they let JBL say and I love shoot comments that aren’t supposed to be shoot comments. Big E says he married a couple while they were off TV. He also says that he put hands on Kofi’s ankle and healed him. Big E is fantastic. Woods says he has been working on Up, Up, Down, Down, and says that he recently became a father. Everyone having babies!

-Kofi talks about his kids and how it was productive family time while he was away. Big E says he has no kids, unless someone hits him up with something he doesn’t know. Woods says they are waiting to get in the ring, and heard SD does it big so that is why they are here. They put over Breezango, and then touch on The Usos. They quickly get off that and Shane learns how to dance from the instructions on the box of cereal. Big E says the intention was to get women to dance instead of Shane and that gets Shane to look at Renee. She obliges and dances in a wonderful moment. Renee dancing every week should be a must now.

-Renee gets things back to talk about the tag division. Big E says everyone is sleeping on American Alpha and wants to see AJ and Nakamura as a regular team. Renee wraps New Day as she says she is getting the word in her ear, but Shane says they don’t have to leave. New Day does decide to leave, but they leave behind a few boxes of cereal.

-Shane and Renee discuss the Coronation of Jinder and they both loved the ceremony. Renee asks Shane what he thinks of Jinder as the WWE Champion. Shane puts over that Jinder has done everything that he said he would do and he puts over hard working meaning something. Renee brings up the reaction from the crowd when Jinder won and Shane says it was just utter shock. He talks about Randy invoking his rematch clause and at this point I wish AJ would jump in just to complain about his lack of a 1 on 1 rematch, but obviously not happening.

-Naomi is out as our next guess and Renee wants to know how she feels after Backlash. They hype the 5 Women Elimination Match next week and Naomi says it doesn’t matter to her who wins. She still has a lot to prove to the division, WWE Universe, and herself. Anyone who wants her title can come and try to get it. They discuss the training Naomi does and for her it is eating in moderation. She also thinks good genetics helps as well, and I chuckle because I can’t help but think of Vince’s genetic jackhammer line. She talks about how Feeling the Glow is all about confidence and that is what made her unstoppable. She feels she is a champion for this reason and brings up the fans chanting “you deserve it” when she won the title the first time, and she wants to prove them right.

-Shane asks about how she got into the business. She says she wanted to be a dancer when she was younger and would travel. She didn’t grow up as a wrestling fan, but when she saw a match for the first time she knew it was something she wanted to do, so she left her job as a dancer for The Orlando Magic. She had no clue what she was getting herself into, but she liked the physicality and it kept her invested. She discusses being very family oriented and talks about her husband and step kids who think she is the coolest since she is the champ.

-Renee closes the segment as she puts over Naomi and hypes the 5 way match next week. Once Naomi is out, Renee closes the show and we are out for another week.

-New Day was fine, and Naomi was ok, but I like the 3 guest format better as things started to drag a little. Still as fun show as expected.

-Join me again next week and thanks for reading!
