MATCH THOUGHTS: This match was kind of there. This was nothing terribly exciting just alright. I’m not sure this was the right result either, and I think with a few more minutes it could have been a little better.

We get a look at the return of Ryback. They actually splice a lot of old footage of Ryback in there too. This was a nice video package to put over Ryback as a big deal.

Alicia Fox says Cameron cannot outfox her. Alicia Fox will introduce herself to Total Divas tonight. Cameron says Alicia is jealous of all her success. Then, she makes a Beetles reference and tells Alicia…girl, bye.

Cameron gets her in a reverse full nelson, and Alicia slowly fights to a vertical base. Cameron stops her momentum quickly and starts smacking her. Alicia finally regains the advantage with a beautiful tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Alicia rolls up Cameron. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Alicia Fox @ 3:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: Alicia might be the most underrated diva on the roster, so it is nice to see her win. My only gripe with the match is the few mishaps. Also, seeing Cameron on offense for the majority of it hurt the match.

Bray Wyatt says he walked the same path as Dean Ambrose. Bray says Dean is a sinner and so was his daddy. His daddy was a rotten sinner, and society says the same thing about sin. Bray says this is a lie they teach you. Bray says there is no going back. Dean says he thinks he’s seen horrible things. No, Bray is sin, gods and devils would walk oceans to get away from him. Bray says he will learn from this.

We get a Kofi New Day promo.

The next is reversed, but he backflips out and hits another. Tyson is arm dragged to the outside. Tyson shows frustration hitting the mat with his hand. He slowly walks away recovering. Tyson composes himself and slowly reenters. Zayn attacks Tyson hitting a vertical suplex. 1..2..kickout. Zayn sends Tyson’s head into the turnbuckle. Zayn continues the onslaught and the crowd approves. Zayn is launched over Tyson but lands on his feet. Zayn goes up top, and Tyson counters with a dropkick. Zayn is sent to the outside where Tyson takes advantage choking him with the apron. Natalya gives Tyson a kiss, because he demands it. Tyson demands another after kneeing Zayn in the face. Tyson hugs Natalya with a smug smirk, as we go to a commercial.

We return with Tyson choking Zayn against the ropes. 1..2..kickout. Tyson steps on his arm and fingers and follows with a stiff kick. 1..2..kickout. Tyson gets a headscissors and demands the referee ask for the submission. Tyson in a nice move digs his elbow into Zayn’s head. Zayn pins him in the headscissors. 1..2..kickout. That just pisses off Tyson who hits Zayn with a running elbow. 1..2..kickout. Tyson continues attacking on a hard whip. 1..2..kickout. Tyson quickly grounds Zayn in a headlock. Zayn hits some forearms and a pop-up dropkick. Zayn goes to the tope rope and Tyson leaps to the top. Zayn pushes him off and hits a cross body. 1..2..kickout. Tyson barely kicked out on that one. Zayn goes for a belly-to-back suplex, and Tyson admonishes the referee for not getting him off. Tyson suckers Zayn to the outside hitting a kick to the face. 1..2..kickout. Tyson hits a leg drop to Zayn from the apron and hits a blockbuster from the top. 1..2..kickout. Zayn barely kicks out this time frustrating Tyson. Tyson hits a few forearms on Zayn and shoulder thrusts. Tyson continues to taunt Zayn. Zayn takes advantage hitting a blue thunder pin. 1..2..kickout. Tyson is sent spiraling outside and Tyson uses Natalya as a shield. Tyson hits a hot shot on the ropes and the paige-turner. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Tyson Kidd @ 13:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: This was an awesome match and better than last week. I loved that they played into their last match and worked the same body parts throughout. This was fun to watch. Sami Zayn on Main Event is always welcome. Tyson Kidd played his part too as an awesome heel.

We get the Raw Rebound with both sides trying to appease Ryback. We also get Luke Harper showing himself as a Team Player.

Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel will return this Friday on Smackdown and the Authority will be the guests.

Dean Ambrose vs. Justin Gabriel
They trade headlocks and Gabriel gets a headscissors takedown. Dean shows off his own wrestling skills wrestling Gabriel to the ground. They trade arm ringers and Dean flips out into his own arm ringer before digging his knee into the arm of Gabriel. Dean keeps cranking on the arm and gets a headlock. Gabriel tries to escape but is shoulderblocked down. Dean slams Gabriel over his head and hits an elbow drop. Dean starts throwing elbows. Dean follows with a vertical suplex. Dean gets a straight jacket choke that Gabriel fights out of. Gabriel hits some chops until Dean meets him with the kitchen sink knee and a pescado. Dean throws him back in and goes to the top rope. Gabriel kicks him off and he falls into a tree of woe. Gabriel hits a double knee stomp. Gabriel gets him in an abdominal stretch. Dean fights out and knocks Gabriel down. They trade whips leading to a cross body block with some punches from Dean. Dean hits a running bulldog. Gabriel starts fighting back with some kicks, but Dean hits the pendulum clothesline. Quickly, he lifts him for dirty deeds. 1..2..3.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Dean Ambrose @ 5:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: This match was pretty decent, but I think Ambrose should have gotten a more dominant victory. Nevertheless, this was good work from both men.

Ambrose has a mic and says he isn’t afraid of Bray. Ambrose does not play games. This is his life and he will knock Bray’s teeth out. Ambrose says Bray will get everything he wants and some family counseling.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The Stardust and Adam Rose match to start the show was nothing special. The following Alicia Fox and Cameron match was more of the same. Actually, it was even worse because of Cameron’s presence. Luckily, the last match made up for it with Tyson Kidd and Sami Zayn doing great work. They got over 10 minutes, which is always welcome. Bray Wyatt cut a decent promo against Ambrose. Dean Ambrose had a good promo as well, and a decent match to close the show. This edition of Main Event was saved by Tyson and Zayn. Thanks to any and all who read the recap!

  • Guy Incognito

Tyson Kidd needs to fall victim to “You’re not over” chants.

    • Roman

Tyson Kidd is over like herpes

    • Fan since 97

Still a great wrestler with an actual character.Give him time.

      • Guy Incognito

They fired the wrong Hart Dynasty memeber

        • Fan since 97

          Point taken

  • Defective

Glad to see Tyson Kidd was over.

  • TheLaughingPint

Cameron vs Alicia Fox was ALMOST as good as Melina vs Alicia Fox.

  • Scott

I love Sami on the main roster but I don’t like him coming in with no fanfare and losing 2 straight …or is Main Event a purgatory between NXT and the main roster?

    • Ice Dagger

Sami was protected in both losses since Kidd cheated.

      • Scott

Still it’s hardly an auspicious debut if that’s what it is, I’m not counting the Raw match obviously.

        • Ice Dagger

If you’re not counting the RAW showcase, why would you count matches on the C-show?

Relax. Sami will get a huge debut sometime next year: personally I’m thinking on RAWafterMania

          • Scott

I did ask if Main Event counted :-/

          • Fan since 97

Not really. We have seen the network numbers and hell when it was on TV about a quarter if the fan base watched the show.

    • Fan since 97

He lost by heel tactics I will take that as long as he is being seen by new fans each week.He will get fanfare after he gets to raw.

  • CS 22

Kidd wrapping his leg around Natalya made me envious for some reason. Nice to see him racking up those wins.

I have to agree with Scott though. How does it help Zayn to randomly show up on Main Event? Shouldn’t WWE introduce the character to its regular audience in some way? A promo package, an interview, or something else? At least Tyson had his persona somewhat promoted through Total Divas.

    • CS 22

The live crowd is the difference. When he randomly appears on Main Event, he’s wrestling in front of thousands of people, the vast majority of whom don’t know who he is. And if WWE is using these crowd reactions to gauge how well a wrestler is connecting with an audience, that puts Zayn at an unfair disadvantage. Or anyone in his position.

      • Fan since 97

He got a pretty good reaction during the matches both weeks.

    • Fan since 97

He had a package last week to introduce him.

  • $47546490

    Justin Gabriel’s still employed???

  • Anthony Tate

This show actually looks decent except for Cameron’s presence however the rest of the matches look decent Zayn/Kidd Ambrose/Gabriel it’s good to see them making a bit of an effort for this show.

  • Fan since 97

Good show.tyson vs zany is always win.I also like dean vs Wyatt fued.
