No Way Jose Andrade Almas NXT

NXT opens wth commentary hyping TakeOver: Brooklyn. Nikki Cross, looking mighty fine I might add, appears in the ring saying “AOP” over and over. Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dane join her in the ring. AOP and Paul Ellering come down the ramp, but Eric Young jumps them from behind. He ties Razar to the guardrail, leaving Akam to take a beating inside. Dane hits a trio of BIG BOY SENTONS. Razar rips the guardrail off and drags it to the ring. He slides in, but immediately gets stomped out. SAnitY ended him with a team up move involving a leaping neckbreaker by EY. Nikki got the Tag Titles and handed them to her boys.

A recap is shown of the altercation between Asuka and Ember Moon last week. Their official contract signing is next week.

The Street Profts debut next!

Earlier today, the Iconic Duo led viewers through a makeup tutorial. They saw Ruby Riot behind them and made fun of her tattoos and gauges. Seeing her messed up the Iconic Duo’s moods.

The Metro Brothers vs. The Street Profits

The Metro Brothers are dressed like Deuce and Domino. The Street Profts are Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford for those who don’t know. Ford is an absolute wild man and I already love him. Dawkins starts with Chris Metro and shoudler blocks him down. He does the Lil B stir dance, uses some leap frogs and an armdrag to take Chris over. Slams and tag to Ford. He flips in and we get a dropkick/splash combo, complete with a custom handshake. Ford flips over Chris, dances and hits a belly to back suplex. Chris hits a shot the ribs and tags out. JC Metro mocks the stir dance and wants a back suplex. Ford counters and dives for the tag. Dawkins with some clotheslines and a back elbow. He spears Chris, while Ford talks tash to JC. Spinning corner splash by Dawkins, D-Lo Sky High and then Ford wins with a frog splash.

Winners: The Street Profits in 2:16

Hideo Itami vs. Aleister Black is announced on TV for TakeOver for the first time.

William Regal brings out Bobbdy Roode end Drew McIntyre for their face to face. Roode brought personal security detail with him because Roderick Strong is a madman. He wants to protect the money in the match, which is him, not Drew. He says that Drew was right when he said Bobby was entitled. He is that way because he’s done everything he said he would. It’s his NXT. Drew was the “chosen one” but Bobby didn’t need to be chosen, he’s simply glorious. Drew calls him an ass and says he’ll be staring at the new NXT Champion soon. Roderick Strong interrupts to say he respects Regal’s rules but he’s not done with Bobby Roode. Roddy says it’s about more than the NXT Title because Roode disrespected him and his family. He challenges Roode to fight him if he’s man enough. Roode tells him to shut up and says he’ll fight Roddy and even give him a title shot. If he gets through Drew McIntyre next week. Regal tells him that he makes the matches. Drew interrupts to tell Regal to make the match. He’ll fight everyone, including Roddy and then promised to beat Roode four days later. Regal made the match, but if Strong wins, he gets a shot AFTER Brooklyn, because that match is set in stone.

Johnny Gargano is interviewed backstage. He says he feels good but it was strange to be alone there. However, he remembers the reaction DIY got in Brooklyn last year, which showed him he was never alone. It led them to the titles and the first tag team TakeOver main event. He wants a match at TakeOver.

Danny Burch vs. Oney Lorcan

This is a rematch from a hard hitting bout a few weeks back. They’re hesitant to lock up and when they do, Burch gives a clean break. They grapple on the mat and Lorcan gets him in the corner, giving a clean break. Another tie up leads to a Burch cravat. Another clean break and they continue to circle one another. Burch turns a leap frog into a flapjack and they trade European uppercuts. Burch backs him into a corner with one, but Lorcan comes back with an Alabama Slam into the opposite corner. Returning from break, Lorcan gets two on a back suplex. Vicious series of chops from Lorcan and a running uppetcut. He runs into a boot and eats a missile dropkick. Burch picks up a near fall with a big lariat. Lorcan blocks a suplex twice, but then gets hung on the ropes for the Tower of London. That gets two. Lorcan escapes the grip and hits the uppercut again. He ducks a clothesline and hits another. Running blockbuster gets two. Burch yells for ONey ot hit him more. He hits a huge knee strike and some slaps. Oney grabs his throat, but Burch hits another slap. Lorcan goes for a half Boston crab, but Burch fights it off. Oney delivers huge kicks to the back and stomps on Burch, who responds with his own kicks to fight it off. Oney still applies the submission, but Burcn counters into a pin to steal it.

Winner: Danny Burch in 9:16 [***]

Burch offers a handshake, but Oney slaps it away. He walks off angrily, but stops and turns. They shake hands and I’m assuming the rubber match is coming soon. Burch held the ropes open for Oney on his way out.

Andrade “Cien” Almas w/ Zelina Vega vs. No Way Jose

Almas avoids Jose early. Tranquilo. Their early exchange sees Almas with a go behind and Jose gyrating his way free. Almas gets a headlock and is sent to the ropes. He’s all tranqulio, but Vega slaps him in the head, making sure he stays focused. Shoulder block by Almas, flapjack from Jose. Jose leaps over Almas and snapmares him. He gets him on his shoulders, Almas gets free and latches himself on the ropes, but Jose kicks him outside. Vega scolds him, “NO MORE TRANQUILO!” Almas hits a shot to the kidneys inside and slams Jose by his hair. He lights Jose up with strikes and chops. Almas slips out of a back suplex and hits a boot. Forearm smashes in the corner connect and so do the double knees. He uses a cocky cover, but Vega scolds him for it. Hammerlock DDT connects to end it.

Winner: Andrade Almas in 3:43 [**]

Before they leave, Zelina goes to commentary and gets a microphone. She puts over the actions of her associate and says he deserves the spotlight. The biggest spotlight is TakeOver: Brooklyn and if Gargano is still looking for an opponent, he’s got one. MY TWO FAVORITES IN NXT IN A MATCH AT TAKEOVER!
