411’s WWE RAW Talk Report: 10/22/17

-Welcome to another edition of RAW Talk as this one follows a PPV that was made so much better thanks to a viral infection running through the WWE roster. Balor/Styles was electric and what’s scary is I think they can do better, and Angle’s addition to the car wreck that was TLC was amazing. His addition just made things fun.

-Our host is Renee Young and she is joined by Peter Rosenberg. Renee immediately brings up what I mentioned and that is how much fun it was to see Kurt Angle in that match. Rosenberg puts over The Shield and Angle winning the match with all the odds against them.

-They quickly bring out our first guest and it is SmackDown’s own, AJ Styles. AJ talks about how there was no build up, but it was a match the world wanted to see. Rosenberg brings up how the crowd was jacked before they even touched, and AJ puts over how great the crowd was. AJ says he received a call Thursday night and that they had issues and needed him on a plane after his match Friday to get to Minnesota. It took him 18 hours to get to Minnesota, and he did what all professionals would do if asked. He wishes he could have had more time to prepare, but they had magic out there. He couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this, and talks about his twitter went crazy when the match was announced. Rosenberg brings up that while a great match, AJ took the loss. AJ says he could make excuses, but there isn’t a loss that is going to cripple him. He will pick himself up and will keep fighting. Renee asks how it felt being back on the RAW brand. He says it was nice to see guys he hasn’t seen in some time, but he needs to get back to his brand and do what he does best. He hypes Survivor Series and says that SmackDown has the better roster, and they will deliver. Rosenberg thanks AJ on behalf of the fans for taking the time to fly 18 hours to entertain. AJ takes his leave and says that he is going to take a nap.

-Rosenberg admits to being a fan boy for AJ Styles and Renee brings up the “2 Sweet” moment. Rosenberg marks out over it again, and I don’t blame him as it was a wonderful touch.

-Next up is the RAW Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss. She gives credit to Mickie James to build her up and then mentions that she beat her. She believes she can be the longest reigning woman’s champion in history as she has beaten everyone on the roster. Alexa mentions she beat Becky Lynch at TLC last year and this year she beat Mickie. Renee brings up Survivor Series, and Alexa mentions she was with SmackDown last year and they lost to RAW. She feels she needs to be the leader and lead RAW to another victory. Rosenberg asks how she can be a leader when she has angered most of the women on the RAW roster. She says he doesn’t need to be friends with them to be their leader. Renee brings up potentially being in the ring with Charlotte, and Alexa talks about how people were worried about the RAW division when Charlotte left. Charlotte leaving didn’t matter as Alexa says she has taken over and ruled the division while taking it to a new level. Alexa points out that Renee and Rosenberg have run out of things to say, so she takes her leave.

-They talk about Asuka and her debut. Rosenberg thinks she can be one of the biggest things in the WWE period. He puts over her reign as NXT champion lasting 523 days, and thinks Alexa should be looking over her shoulder a little bit know Asuka is right there. Rosenberg gives credit to Emma for putting up a great fight and making Asuka work for her win.

-Our final guest is Kurt Angle as he gets a standing ovation from Renee and Rosenberg. Angle says it was a great night and he never expected to do it at the last minute. It was a huge night for everyone and he thought it was cool getting to wear The Shield gear. My feed freezes on Rosenberg’s face for a few minutes for whatever reason and comes back with Angle talking about his return. He didn’t know it would come this soon and he talks about always wanting one last run. He says he feels good and is healthy and hopes this is the first of a few more matches. Angle says he was a bit hesitant and admits to not practicing as it took some time to get used to the bumps again. He says that the longer you are out the more you question yourself. He is 48 years old and isn’t getting any younger. He has been clean for 4.5 years and is proud of that, but before he can finish Rosenberg jumps in to put over when Angle returned to the match and ran through Cesaro and Sheamus. Angle says he feels bad he left his guys out there for a few minutes, but gave them everything he had. He says he is proud of all the boys and girls on RAW for delivering tonight and mentions he made a call to Shane to ask for a favor, and he knows Shane will want something back. Renee and Rosenberg brings up Survivor Series and Angle puts over RAW while also saying that all 3 brands (including NXT) is the greatest group of talent in history including the Attitude Era. My feed freezes for a few minutes again, but it seems like Angle was wrapping up and when it starts working again, Renee is hyping Brock being on RAW tomorrow and we are out.

-Fine show here as AJ and Alexa cut their teeth with Talking Smack so they know what to do on this show, and Angle come off as being both relieved and grateful. Tons of hype for Survivor Series though so WWE is gearing up quickly for the show in 4 weeks. Thanks for reading.
