411’s WWE Smackdown Report 11.23.07

We kick off the show in the back with Vicky Guerrero yelling at Edge for what he did at Survivor Series against Undertaker and ruining his chance at the World Title and she is going to punish him…by giving him a World Title Match against Batista next week on Smackdown. Edge makes sure he gets it straight and he confirms he is the #1 Contender and thanks Vicky as he wouldn’t of been able to pull off what he did at Survivor Series without her. And she says no problem….and they start making out! The Edge/Vicky Guerrero Alliance begins!

We’re in the ring now with JBL and he brings out the WWE United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter! JBL has a special presentation for him and he wants to give MVP the first ever United States Championship ring. He wants to show just one of the reasons why he is getting the ring and they show footage of MVP’s double cross on Matt Hardy last week. MVP thanks JBL for being one of his greatest supporters and these fans need to know why he did why he did it. He says JBL is a man who dumped his partner and became World Champion. MVP is relieved that he no longer has to carry Matt Hardy. JBL is proud and honored to give him the United States Championship Ring and he puts it on MVP’s finger. JBL wants the fans to give MVP the proper respect and he introduces MVP again and gives him the ring to himself. MVP says that we signed his contact, he said he would live up to the hype and he has done it by winning championships. Rey Mysterio has just about heard enough and he interrupts. Rey rips the mic out of MVP’s and tells MVP to look at him….ROOKIE! Oh snap! Rey came out here to tell him that he ain’t nothing but a punk. You go Rey! Rey says he know why he was ducking Matt Hardy, and that is because he is scared of Matt Hardy! MVP decks Mysterio in the face but Rey fights back and almost nails a 619 but MVP runs away.

Match #1: WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison and Miz vs. Major Brothers (non title match)

Morrison and Brian Major start off and Brian nails a flying forearm. Tag to Bret but Morrison drives him into the corner and tags Miz. Bret fights off both men but gets a cheap shot of Morrison. Miz hangs Bret up with the ropes and tags Morrison who gets a springboard baseball slide on Bret for two. Morrison locks in a headlock but Bret nails a jawbreaker and a standing leg drop. Tag by both teams and Brian cleans house. Dropkick to Miz and he sends Morrison out of the ring. Powerslam by Brian for a two count on Miz. He missed the flying cross body and Miz nails the Reality Check for the win.

Winners: John Morrison and Miz via pin fall on Brian Major by Miz

In the back, Vince McMahon and Finlay meet in the back and McMahon doesn’t seem happy about Finlay helping Hornswoggle. They exchange words and I’m impressed how Finlay cuts him off so well. Vince then books Finlay and Hornswoggle against Mark Henry and Finlay loves it.

Match #2: Big Daddy V w/Matt Striker vs. Kane

They lock up and Kane gets behind him and nails some kidney shots. Splash in the corner by Kane but Daddy sends him in the corner and pounds away. Running splash by Daddy and then he chops him down. He steps on Kane and then slams him down. He lays on top of him but Kane slips out. Daddy fired back with a huge clothesline though. Daddy misses the splash though and Kane nails the sitting dropkick. Elbow drops by Kane and then a leg drop for two. Striker runs in with a chair and Kane takes him out causing the DQ. Kane clears the ring with the chair.

Winner: Kane via Disqualification

Match #3: WWE United States Champion MVP vs. Rey Mysterio (non title)

MVP and Rey lock up and they shove each other. Headlock takedown by MVP but Rey gets in a head scissor submission. Arm drags by Rey and they back off each other. MVP starts working on Rey in the corner but Rey gets in some kicks to the leg. Flying head scissors by Rey and more kicks. Springboard crossbody by Rey for two. Sunset slip by Rey and MVP gets out of the ring.

We’re back and MVP is slamming Rey into the ring. Running big boot by MVP for two. Knee drop by MVP. Dropkick by Rey though and he fights back until he gets hit with a clothesline. MVP unloads on Rey with some shots.MVP locks in a full nelson but Rey elbows out. Rey mounts MVP in the corner but MVP pushes him off. Rey runs at him and MVP nails another big boot! Only gets a two though. MVP chokes Rey in the corner. MVP locks in a modified arm bar. MVP unlocks it and goes to slam Rey but he counters into a spinning DDT. Rey nails a big boot of his own and then a dropkick t the face. Rey nails a springboard flipping senton! He then connects with a huge kick to the head and gets a two count. Rey runs off the ropes but MVP nails a tilt a whirl slam. Rey counters the Playmaker into a hurricanrana and nails the 619! He goes for the West Coast Pop but MVP falls down. Rey sets him up and nails a second 619! He nails the West Coast Pop but MVP catches him and nails a pinning powerbomb with some assistance from the ropes and gets the win.

Winner: MVP via pin fall

In the back, Batista meets with Vicky Guerrero. She informs him about his defense against Edge next week. He asks why because Edge doesn’t deserve it. He asks her for a reason and Vicky tells him Edge deserves it and secondly, she loves Edge! She tells Batista to leave.

We’re in the back and Jesse and Festus promote the new John Cena cd and Festus is ducked out in Cena gear! Kinda funny stuff and Jesse helps Festus do the You Can’t See Me!

We cut to Mickelle McCool with chuck Palumbo’s bike and Jaime Noble hits on her. Noble gets excited to hear that her and Chuck are just friends and hits on her more and she slaps him. He gets turned on though and says after he beats Palumbo, she will have second thoughts on him.

We cut in the back again and Hornswoggle thanks Finlay for helping him as they walk to the ring.

Match #4: Hornswoggle and Finlay vs. Mark Henry in a Handicap Match

Finlay and Hornswoggle circle Henry. Horny and Finlay keep kicking him from behind distracting him until Finlay nails a dropkick to the knee. Finlay launches Horny into Henry and then uses him as a ram. Henry goes to throw Horny but Finlay nails him. Good double teaming on Henry but Henry finally takes Finlay down. He chases Horny who grabs a shillelagh. The ref takes it away, Finlay grabs his own shillelagh, nails Henry, and Hornswoggle nails the Tadpole Splash for the win.

Winners: Finlay and Hornswoggle via pin fall on Mark Henry by Hornswoggle

After the match, Great Khali comes out and Finlay gets destroyed by him and Mark Henry.

Match #5: Chuck Palumbo w/ Michelle McCool vs. Jaime Noble

Noble gets some kicks in early but Chuck pounds on him in the corner. High elbow by Chuck. Chuck nails a stalling suplex for two. Chuck misses with a running splash and Noble gets on the top rope and nails a dropping knee. Head scissor submission by Noble. Chuck finally gets on track with a big uppercut. He slams Noble in the corner and then a big clothesline. Over the head suplex by Chuck now. He runs at Noble and misses and eats turnbuckle. Noble nails a victory roll from the turnbuckle for the win!

Winner: Jamie Noble via pin fall

Match #6: Torrie Wilson vs. Victoria

They lock up and Victoria gets Torrie in the corner but Torrie nails some chops. Victoria slams Torrie down though and mounts her with several shots. Victoria gets a camel clutch and then nails a scoop slam. Victoria misses the Moonsault though. Torrie nails a big kick and clotheslines. Suplex by Torrie and then a dropkick. She goes to the top and nails a flying cross body for two. Victoria though drops Torrie on the bottom rope. Torrie counters a Widow’s Peak though and nails a neckbreaker for the win.

Winner: Torrie Wilson via pin fall

We get the main event segment as Edge and his pyro are back for the Cutting Edge and he comes down with Vicky Guerrero. Edge tells the people to admit that it is great to see him again. He admits it’s great to stand there as the new #1 Contender. He says he deserves a lot of credit, but he needs to thanks Vicky Guerrero who admits that she is the love of his life. This plan has been being set up for four months and it will conclude next week with a World Title win! He brings out his guest Batista! Batista is pissed! Batista says they make him sick. Edge says what makes him sick is Batista walking around with the title as he never beat Edge. Batista shoves Edge down and says he will get his ass kicked next week. Batista leaves and Edge looks scared. Edge and Vicky are still in the ring as the lights go out and Taker is in the ring. Taker chases Edge but Edge escapes to the back. Vicky and Taker are in the ring still and since Edge won’t come to the ring, he gives her a Tombstone Piledriver. Edge and Taker stare down as we go off the air.
