AEW Dynamite Drops Below 700,000 Viewers, Ratings Down Against NBA Finals
– Wrestlenomics has the viewership and ratings for last night’s edition of AEW Dynamite. Numbers were down following last week’s show, which saw Dynamite rise to its highest numbers in about two months.
Last night’s live TBS broadcast averaged 681,000 viewers. Viewership dropped by 14% and over 100,000 viewers from last week’s audience, which averaged 790,000 viewers.
Ratings were also down in the P18-49 key demographic. AEW Dynamite drew an average 0.23 rating. The number was down from the 0.25 for last week’s show. Dynamite finished at No. 2 in the rankings for cable original programming on Wednesday.
WWE NXT TV outdrew AEW Dynamite this week in terms of average viewership with 718,000 viewers for NXT versus 681,000 viewers for Dynamite. Dynamite still managed to barely edge out NXT in the key demo at 297,000 viewers compared to 284,000 viewers in the key demo (0.22 rating) for NXT.
AEW’s main competition was the NBA Finals on ABC. Game 3 of the finals between the Celtics and the Mavericks averaged 10.973 million viewers and drew a 3.20 rating in the key demo.
