AEW Pulls Joey Janela From Tonight’s Dynamite Over COVID-19 Concerns

Joey Janela will not be appearing on this week’s episode of Dynamite over concerns about COVID-19. The company announced on Twitter that they and Janela learned today that Janela had exposure to someone who has tested positive for the virus:
“AEW and Joey Janela learned today that he had exposure to a known COVID-19 positive person at an independent show. For that reason we are pulling him until such time as he is cleared to return consistent with our protocols.”
Janela was set to face Kenny Omega in a #1 contender’s tournament first round match on tonight’s show. Janela is being replaced by Sonny Kiss:
