AJ Styles Says He Wants a Match With Edge, Reveals His Favorite WWE Mach

– Speaking to Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, AJ Styles revealed that he wanted to get in the ring with Edge in WWE and revealed his favorite matchup. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

AJ Styles on wanting to face Edge: “Edge is that guy. He’s so knowledgeable. He’s such a superstar. I would love the opportunity to get in the ring with him. There was that time where I thought there’d never be an opportunity to wrestle Edge, and now, it’s here. The time is limited in which we can pull it off. Whether he or I retire first, who knows? I wanna get that match. I desperately wanna get that match and I think it’s one that most fans would enjoy.”

AJ Styles on wanting to see more crossovers in WWE like Impact’s Mickie James: “I would love to see it. I think it’s a good thing. I’m afraid the door only opens one way. But yeah, there’s a lot of library on AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley and so many other guys and girls. So it wouldn’t be a bad thing.”

On his favorite match of all time: ‘Maybe the John Cena match that we had at Summerslam. The first one. People, they don’t understand, crowd reaction is everything. They think if you watch stuff with the volume down [Styles shrugs], but you watch it with the volume up, and you’ll realize maybe this is better. That’s everything. It doesn’t matter about the match, as long as people are responding to that match. And they were really, really loud at that SummerSlam match.”

Styles will be in action this weekend at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022. He will be competing in the men’s Chamber match for the WWE Championship against WWE champ Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, Riddle, Seth Rollins, and Austin Theory.
